Goddess Lycia Month exists because February already carries weight. It is the month of my birth, the month devotion is ritualized, the month people are reminded to give, to focus, and to feel longing with intention.
February has always been a month centered on desire, ritualized affection, and longing. Valentine’s Day exists because people need a socially sanctioned moment to focus their attention — to offer, to indulge, to fixate. Goddess Lycia Month simply removes the pretense. The impulse was already there.
For years, you have taken pleasure from my presence — from my work, my voice, my restraint, my control. This month exists as acknowledgment of that exchange. Not obligation. Recognition.
If I had never been born, none of this would exist. And yet here you are — still watching, still returning, still wanting. February simply makes that visible.
